So inside parcels #s 1 and 2 was this pair. They both came from Amazon, ordered on the same day, so heaven only knows why they were packaged and dispatched separately, even though it was the same day they were dispatched, and I'd paid for the cheapest 'bung it all in together' postage option.
Anywho, my mum will be thrilled to read that I've been getting more into the embroidery again (she first taught me when I was knee high to the proverbial grasshopper, and my gran, bless her, still has some of my early efforts on display in her living room) When I saw the Doodle Stitching: The Motif Collection
For book #2, the Zakka Style
Next is this fat eighth bundle of Reunion by Sweetwater that I ordered quite a while ago, but then the shop had had a miscount on their stock, and I had to wait a while for more to be delivered to them. I was happy enough to wait, as I have no particular project in mind for it. I love this line, but it's huge, and I really couldn't justify buying an FQ or HY bundle of it, although I have picked up a yard or a metre here and there of some of my more favourite prints in it that I can see using more often. I'm toying with a few possibilities, but there's no rush...
Now these are rare and unusual creatures in the UK, a kind of clasp bar affair that attaches to fabric to allow you to make key fobs and the like. I got some regular sized ones and some smaller ones, and I think it's fair to say I won't need to stock up on any more for a while ;o)
Finally, Laura, my erstwhile October travelling companion, took out a second mortgage to post these threads to me which I won in a giveaway recently. She's having another giveaway of more of them now (check out last Sunday's post...)
So plenty to play with this weekend! I actually think I need to catch up with a bit of sleep from last weekend first though ;o)

Wow! What a week, with the fun packages! I love a little bundle of fabric, and the thread and books look like lots of fun, too. I just read about that sew-along, today. Will look forward to watching your projects grow! :o)

It must feel like Christmas in your house hold. Tell me where in England did you get your loot of bars and fob bit and pieces. I am looking for some.

Lots of great prezzies in your post. I just got the Zakka book, too and I'm deciding which projects to do. Have a restful weekend!
ReplyDeleteI have been eyeing both of those books for a good week now. You'll have to let me know how the embroidery one is :)
ReplyDeleteOooh, fun stuff! How do you like the Zakka book? I've been thinking about it.
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful week at your house. Have fun with all of your goodies.
ReplyDeleteLots of lovely goodies coming your way this week. I have the Doodle stitching book and love that it comes with a CD, so you can juggle about with the motifs to your hearts content!
ReplyDeleteMy copy of the Zakka style book arrived in the post yesterday too, so all set for the sew along.
I like those key fob caps, where did you get them?
Enjoy all your stitchy goodies!
Wow - lucky you! I have a Reunion charm pack that I couldn't resist but am now wondering what to do with..! Such a sweet range. I love the Zakka Style book - some really great ideas... hope you enjoy the bits of the sewalong that you do.
ReplyDeleteGlad to read about the embroidery, just when are you going to fit it in? We also have several of your efforts on the wall - the kingfisher K for Katy, some wee fish, and of course the tumbling teddies.

Look at you, lucky girl! Can't wait to see what you make from your Zakka Style. It's a very interesting book, but I haven't picked one up for myself....yet.
ReplyDeleteyou had a good week.
ReplyDeleteOh don`t you just love the post sometimes? Yes, where did you get the key fobs from and I need that embroidery book now!!
ReplyDeleteYou really do get the best stuff in the post. I hardly ever get anything but bills and adverts. Love the stack of fabric. After spending time with my sister and seeing all of the wonderful fabric she has I'm feeling like a trip to the fabric store coming on. Enjoy your weekend. BTW my blog's back. Hugs
ReplyDeleteHaha--I've only had limited success in finding key fob hardware, and you always have to buy a huge amount so I haven't bought any yet. I fell for that with mag snaps and swivel hooks. I have jars of each!
ReplyDeleteOoh I have a reunion jellyroll I started cutting up!
ReplyDeleteLovely mail!
Haha. Second mortgage!
ReplyDeleteHeh, yes, I did notice that yours was the most expensive package to mail when I sent out all my bee envelopes today. :D
ReplyDeleteI love getting packages like that!
ReplyDeleteSoooo many packages, it's so much fun, isn't it! Now can you tell me where you got those fabric clasps?, I feel a strong need to join the gang of keyring makers! x
